A CDR driven report uses the CDR records to generate the report. CDR’s are typically received and processed several times throughout the day effectively creating a more "real time” view into consumption. CDR’s do not contain any monthly subscription charges and are based purely on consumption.

Invoice driven reports are generated using invoice based data which is typically received and processed once per month. Invoice driven reports contain all of the fixed monthly recurring subscription charges that apply to the respective service(s) as well as any discounts and credits.
